Empty Page

Empty Page, By Brian37 (AKA Brian James Rational Poet On FB/META And @Brianrrs37 on Twitter/X)

Where are you, I know you are there
Where are you, you give me a scare
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, I want you to rise
Of the page, into their curious eyes
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, I am aware, it is unfair
You taunt me, with your snickering glare
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, the words I cant find
The scattered thoughts cluttering my mind
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, inspiration elusive
Bock lettering wishing for cursive
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, the clock doesn’t care
Hour upon days, my prose in despair
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, in shadows you hide
I’ve lost my muse, it’s gone in stride
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, my cupboards are bare
No words in my pantry, no dish to prepare
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, no spark to ignite
The first line is nowhere in sight
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Where are you, no rage no rose
No song to compose,
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

Dangerously I languish in this dry spell
No plume for my pen, no ink in my well
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare

When will the chasm I find myself in
When will the echoing frustration end
I sit at my keyboard with a blank stare.
(end)

Another week without inspiration. I hate this.

  1. Brian, often, when you feel you’re not able to write, you manage to produce something like the above poem that is both worthy and is proof that you have the words within you. I can feel your frustration, as it is tough when the words won’t come, but what you have written here proves you are still a good writer. Trust in yourself and your skills, my friend. They are definitely there, as I see in front of me. X
