Titles are fleeting
So too wealth
And fame
This passenger jet
We call life
Takes off
And lands
The same
Carl Sagan
Was on the spot
Pointing out
Our short lives
Perceived self importance
On this “Pale Blue Dot”
We scurry
And scream
And flail
Dominate and fail
Fleeting marks
We make, if any
To no avail.
