How not to complement a black person.

I had the misfortune today to stumble into a Twitter Space room, and I’ve heard this ham fisted, clumsy, backhanded “complement” before, the host said something to the effect of, “I like him, he is a white black man, well mannered”. WHAT THE FUCK?

Now, this wasn’t a comedy Space, it wasn’t in the context of say South Park or Family guy humor. It was basically a serious but casual conversation about sports stars and their favorite players. One person mentioned Jerry Rice.

I am sorry, but that is NOT how you tell a black person you like them. It is basically saying “If you act white, I’ll like you”. What the fuck does that mean? I have heard plenty of white people with the lexicons of pre schoolers, so I am not understanding what this person means about “A white black man”.
