So Many Of You, By Brian37 (AKA Brian James Rational Poet on FB/META and @brianrrs37 on Twitter)
I was feeling low
A while ago
And wasn’t sure
If the words would flow
My mind was in rot
I thought my quill
Would no longer spill
The words of life’s thrill
Your anvil hit me
The bat did too
The poets recently
I’ve delved into
The smokiness, the heat
The cold, the defeat
The chest cracked open
The still heartbeat
Damn it, I wish it were me
But I didn’t write it, you did
You, and you, and you, and you
So many, so many, what can I do?
Oh my envy extends
Past the Keiper belt
Might as well be Andromeda
All of you write so well
This infestation,
Wonderfully so
It’s no competition, our ink to flow
Just go go go
Don’t you get it? I need all of you
You, and you, and you, and you
Breath life into that print
Beat it’s chest, give it no choice
Just do your best.
If you could see
The joy I get
Reading your works
Takes care of the rest.
(end)
THIS is an ode to all the wonderful poets, AND I DO MEAN TONS OF YOU, all of you, that I read every day. I cant say enough good things about what I see. And you all amaze me. It really does give me comfort to read so much and really see the creativity in all of you. It is truly inspiring. And many of you have caused me to respond with my own poems. I love you for that. Thank you fellow poets!

It’s great that you can connect this way to so many other poets and draw comfort from their poetry. But, Jerry, please don’t underestimate your own talent as you write brilliant poetry, in my opinion. I can always relate to your writing and enjoy reading your pieces a few times before I comment. Keep going with your writing. I enjoy following and reading your work. Take care.

Dear Brian, I am so sincerely sorry – I called you Jerry instead of Brian. I had just been reading a similar poem on another blog and made a mistake. As I’ve explained on my blog today, I am under extreme stress and worry about something happening to me tomorrow. Please, forgive me for my mistake. Ellie 😔

It’s ok. No biggie. Hope whatever it is it works out for you. I hate stress too.

Don’t apologize for the mistake. Jaclyn Smith sent me a Tweet answer to my question asking her what her favorite movies were and “Gone With The Window” was her answer. I know you meant me, we all have goofs.
