Mythology Goggles, By Brian37 (AKA Brian James Rational Poet on FB/META and @Brianrrs37 on Twitter/X)
I know in my rational mind
8 billion humans will not be in line
Of like mind, some are tolerant some are blind
The tooth fairy doesn’t explain dentistry
Alchemy will never replace chemistry
Winter will not be explained by Frosty
Tell a believer they are wrong, they get nasty
And burn you at the stake, 4 jet planes
Did so make missiles, the towers did take
I know in my rational mind
8 billion humans will not all be atheists
Most will always find
The religion of their parents bind
Given to them in youth, it is however
Not proof, of anything but cultural bias
I do not wish to kill, I do not wan to kill
Those who hold a a god, those who have good will
I do however implore logic and science don’t ignore
The Ancient Egyptian gods did die
Despite 3,000 years of Pharoah’s pride
The Aztec gods in ruins now lie
What makes you think your God will survive?
I do not say this to hurt or harm
I do not want to cause any alarm
It is just a thought for you to ponder
Out of the past wonder into reason
Fear of change should be out of season.
Dare to take off your mythology goggles
Of real science the mind boggles
Ditch the fantasy that does not last
Don’t be afraid to leave the past
