Decades stationary, laws reactionary
Unsatisfactory, categorical insanity
Militias of bygone eras, deadly errors

Flooded market they want more
Despite the carnage, despite the gore
Playing the Amendment Card

Robert was never fit to hold or handle
This weapon of war, much less any
But we live in the land of plenty

Plenty of bullets, high capacity clips
Swiss cheese our patterns become
With that hundred round drum

Guts spring out like the snake in the can
Hardly a prank that Wayne Pierre began
The cult leader of the NRA clan

Thoughts and prayers long since a cliche
The GOP’s dead horse beaten every day
The reaper’s profits shall have their way

Bullet proof backpacks are all they offer
The manufactures fill Republican coffers
Blame carousel they revolve over and over

“It’s the criminals”, “its the mentally ill”
“It’s violent video games”, “the church’s aren’t filled”
On all these lies, the obstruction will build

More and more and more get killed
The manufacture’s profits will be fulfilled
The carcass of loved ones soon to be chilled

The sane who don’t want this must be strong willed
The only sure way to prevent gun violence
Is vetting at time of buy and not reacting after someone dies

In and out, like a burger joint, easy to get
There is no point, to oblivion the masses are sent
No oasis for safety a life of torment

“Now’s not the time”, it never is for them
They’d rather live with daily deadly bedlam
The body count never unsettles them

It’s all a blood lobby marketing scam .

This poem is about all the bullshit reactions that come from the gun lobby and the GOP. They don’t give a shit how many people die. They want the rest of us to live with the carnage to satisfy their selfish insecurity. They are not interested in reducing firearm violence. And the worst part is one industry is lying to the public and seeing a bullshit Hollywood Dirty Harry utopia that does not exist, and falsely accusing sane people of being anti freedom when all we are is pro safety.

If you are as tired of all the firearm violence in America as I am, don’t let up. Take a little time every day to report any local gun violence, be it a suicide, or domestic violence, accidental, any kind, and report it to your local newspaper, news stations, national media, your state Representatives and Congresspeople. And demand that news media report less about motive and spend more time reporting the stats on deaths and the volume of firearms too. The real problem has away been ease of buy and the volume of firearms in circulation.

It will add up over time the more people do it. And it will unfortunately take time. This is a generational thing. It took 40 years to make things this bad, and the change will come, with persistence and perseverance.

We would love for all gun owners to work with safety advocates. But what will not happen anymore is the repetition of old dead arguments and reactionary bullshit. To the manufactures, your profits are not as important as public safety. Sane people are not going to let you control the narrative or bully us and hide behind the 2nd Amendment like cowards.

Guns can never kill an idea. And the sane have the idea that we don’t have to live like this. We don’t have to make guns like candy or hand them out like candy.
