Indelible, By Brian37 (AKA Brian James Rational Poet on FB/META and @Brianrrs37 on Twitter)
Carved into marble, words need not be
Pyramids, gold death masks, in a tomb
Taj Mahal, obelisks, mausoleum, make room
The mark of the poets are always in bloom
They speak of the sun, daisies and dewdrops
They speak of the rainbows when the storm stops
They speak of the lovers, embraced, unrequited
They speak of their pets when they get excited
They are your stitches, they are your scars
They are the singers in smoky piano bars
They are the telescope focused on Mars
They are the comets and shooting stars
They are your dreams of the sandy beach
They are your passed loved ones, out of reach
They are your nightmares, darkness besieged
They are laughter when you are pleased
Carved into marble, they need not be
Indelible ink for all to read
The poet’s words centuries last
Hometown library the dye is cast
Home on a bookshelf in a study
Pick up and ponder when you’re ready
Professor assigns you in collage class
Or back yard pool, a time to pass
Night time sheets, tv set off
Covers burry you in winter’s draft
Furry companions sleep on your lap
The adventure set, the poem your map
Carved into marble, words need not be
Indelible ink, for all to read
Hunger for passion, making a plea
Oceans of depth , a violent sea
Indelible ink, for all to read
The cut causes pain, blood to bleed
Clues fingerprints, at the crime scene
Shamrocks and clovers show off the green
Carved into marble, words need not be
To query our motive is no mystery
Life experience leads to creativity
Love is the paper and pen is the seed.

EDIT IN MY POEM
Former line in the second stanza read
“They speak of the pet when it gets excited”
I changed it to
“They speak of their pets when they get excited”
Copy change and copywrite applies to both my twitter accounts Rationalpoet@Brianrrs37 and Brian@rationalpoet37 even though the old version is posted there.
